Are you an experienced Assistant Company Secretary looking for a new opportunity with a FTSE 100 global technology company? We’re looking for someone to join our growing team, based from our offices in the Shard, London Bridge. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively to maintain the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the Secretariat.
A day in the life:
As an Assistant Company Secretary you will provide effective support on shared finance and corporate secretary projects, including corporate simplification, cash repatriation, intercompany loans, transfer of assets, hedging, share restructuring, and re-organisation of entity structure. In this role, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and serve as the point of escalation for subsidiary compliance and global entity management, supporting the subsidiary governance framework for the Group. You will deliver induction programs for subsidiary directors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities, and manage relationships with external providers, advisors, and Sage business stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist with governance matters from M&A activities, lead the Delegation of Signing Authority project, and handle ad hoc corporate projects.
An experienced candidate with extensive knowledge in leading and supporting corporate projects and transactions, particularly under the UK Companies Act, combined with strong project management skills. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to work autonomously, and prioritise multiple tasks. They should excel under pressure, knowing when to act quickly and escalate issues as needed. Key stakeholders include the Office of General Counsel, external advisors, Group & regional Finance, and senior Treasury and Tax colleagues. The candidate should have an ACG qualification with significant post-qualification experience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.
In the first 30 days you will complete general onboarding activities and introductory training and will gain an understanding of Sage, the Secretariat team, and the wider legal team. By the 60 day mark, you will have a deeper understanding of Sage, our culture, and values, and starting to build your internal network. Finally, at 90 days, you will have solid relationships with key stakeholders and the rest of the team. You will also have a comprehensive understanding of your role expectations and have personal objectives set leading to deliverables.
