Assistant Clinical Psychologist
Salary: £25,950 per annum (£18,936 per annum pro-rata)
Location: Gwent
Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2026 – 27 hours per week

About the role
Our Assistant Clinical Psychologists support the Clinical Psychologist in the team and hold a small caseload of young people and families across Gwent, providing direct therapeutic work as well as specialist assessments.
The Assistant Clinical Psychologist will also join the Clinical Psychologist in the delivery of training and sharing good practice.
The position is a challenging and exciting role, which offers the opportunity for development in a range of skills and competencies, which includes access to Aneurin Bevan Health Board and Child and Family Psychology and therapies department.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Delivering evidence-based individual interventions with the aim of alleviating psychological distress and promoting psychological wellbeing.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions about young person's emotional wellbeing, risk, and development of psychological formulations.
- Attending and contributing to weekly team meetings and case discussions.
- Participating in clinically relevant research, service evaluation and audit projects.
- Maintaining the clinical outcomes database and supporting the Clinical Psychologist as required.

- Undergraduate degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Knowledge of Psychological theories and practices
- Excellent writing, communication and organization skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
