About the Assistant Buyer job

Your role will be to assist the Purchasing Manager by efficiently placing purchase orders and planning deliveries of raw materials to meet the needs of the company and its customer base.

Key tasks

1. Have effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders e.g. production, warehouse, planning, and sales.
2. Find the best possible prices and services with suppliers while identifying new ones.
3. Continually work to improve internal processes and procedures.
4. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.

About You

You will already have some buying/purchasing experience, ideally from within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment. In addition, you should:

1. Demonstrate success in supplier relationships.
2. Have a good level of commercial and business acumen.
3. Possess good negotiating skills, attention to detail, and great organizational skills.
4. Work effectively as part of a team or individually as required.
5. Have the ability to work unaided and as part of a team across multiple departments.
