1. Salary: £28k - £40k (DOE).

Assistant Building Surveyor Job Overview

1. Undertaking detailed measured surveys and producing accurate CAD plans.
2. Conducting building surveys and inspections, including condition schedules and planned maintenance reports.
3. Preparing drawings for planning applications and liaising with local planning authorities.
4. Developing outline and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with building regulations and relevant guidance.
5. Producing technical specifications, tender documentation, and schedules of work.
6. Assisting in contract administration, preparing contracts, monitoring project costs, and issuing instructions.
7. Managing tender processes, preparing tender reports, and liaising with contractors.
8. Attending and chairing client and contractor meetings, preparing minutes, and actioning key points.
9. Monitoring construction works on-site, liaising with operatives, and resolving technical queries.
10. Supporting the property management team with technical queries and small project works.

Assistant Building Surveyor Job Requirements

1. Degree in Building Surveying (RICS accredited).
2. Ideally, 1-2 years of post-graduate experience.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Desire to work towards MRICS status.
6. A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
