Assistant Attendance Officer

Employment type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: South London.

Salary: £23,174 - £26,975 per annum.

Hours: 8h30am – 16h30pm Monday – Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and record student attendance and punctuality, ensuring accurate data is maintained.
2. Communicate with students, parents, and staff regarding attendance concerns and support strategies.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve student attendance and reduce lateness.
4. Support the Attendance Officer in identifying and addressing patterns of absenteeism or truancy.
5. Prepare and present attendance reports for school leadership, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.

Key Requirements:

1. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
2. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate attendance records.
3. A clear understanding of the factors affecting student attendance and punctuality, with a proactive approach to addressing them.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
5. Experience with administrative tasks, including data entry and the use of attendance management systems (or willingness to learn).
