Assistant Additional Learning Support Coordinator

We are recruiting an Additional Learning Support (ALS) Co-ordinator, responsible for the co-ordination of in-class support for students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, and other vulnerabilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring our students receive the support they need to succeed.

Essential Criteria

• Relevant Level 3 qualification.
• Experience supporting learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Thorough knowledge of learning difficulties/disabilities and support strategies.
• Understanding of Child/Adult Protection issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.

• Assist in coordinating in-class support services for students across various programmes (Level E1 – Level 4).
• Supervise and support a team of learning support assistants.
• Act as a key contact for Looked After Children, ensuring their educational progress.
• Liaise with the ALS Coordinator and contribute to the PDPR process.
• Monitor and report on support activities, ensuring accurate records.
• Support curriculum areas with PEEPs and liaise with the Health and Safety team.
• Participate in staff meetings, student disciplinaries, and case conferences.

• Engage in regular CPD activities and performance reviews.
• Commit to the College's values of equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
