Job description

Our client is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a driven Assistant Accountant to become part of their vibrant and expanding business in the commercial real estate sector. This role promises a chance to acquire hands-on experience in a lively environment, with exposure to multiple entities within the group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enhance key financial and commercial skills, with the added benefit of flexible working opportunities on Fridays.


Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain current accounting records for all group companies.
  2. Ensure precise data entry and reconciliation of transactions.
  3. Process bank payments, transfers, and bank reconciliations.
  4. Raise invoices and manage client payments.
  5. Process supplier invoices and manage payment schedules.
  6. Maintain supplier and client ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  7. Support the asset management team with monitoring project and capital expenditure budgets.
  8. Oversee daily bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions across all group entities.
  9. Guarantee accurate financial records and manage supplier and client transactions.
  10. Support internal financial reporting processes.
  11. Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports.
  12. Support VAT returns, CIS returns, and other tax-related filings.
  13. Communicate with auditors and tax advisors as needed.
  14. Assist with compliance and regulatory matters.

The Ideal Candidate:
  1. AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (desirable but not essential).
  2. 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in real estate or professional services.
  3. Familiarity with accounting software (Sage, Xero, or similar).
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  5. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  6. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
