Assistant Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts professional to join their team, playing a key role in financial reporting, tax compliance, and credit control across UK and European operations.

Key Responsibilities

• General accounting tasks, including journal entries & reconciliations
• Managing fixed assets & Capex reporting
• Preparing & filing tax and VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Assisting with external audits & financial reporting
• Supporting budget preparation and financial audits
• Credit control for UK & European customers
• Bank reconciliations & processing vendor invoices
• Assisting with budget preparation & lease reporting

Key Attributes

• Ideally someone who is Part-Qualified (CIMA preferred, ACCA/ACA considered).
• Strong Excel skills & experience with ERP systems (Syteline ideal)
• Excellent analytical & organizational skills
• Ability to work independently & within a small team
• Foreign language skills (French/German) are a plus!
