Assistant Accountant

Change Financial Services are working with our client, based in the heart of Edinburgh, to recruit a part qualified accountant to their team. The role will offer unrivalled support to an actively studying accountant that has current experience of accounts preparation and or management accounts, that is ambitious and looking to take their next step.

The client is a boutique, rapidly expanding financial services firm, who are able to offer end to end exposure to accounts prep whilst interacting with clients and an experienced team. Key duties of the role will include:

1. Assisting in monthly management accounts preparation
2. Review and analysis of the balance sheet and Profit and Loss statement
3. Responsible for insight and analysis of key client drivers
4. Posting and calculation of prepayments and accruals
5. Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accuracy of billing and invoices, their recognition on the ledger
6. Assisting in year end close and associated reporting such as VAT returns
7. Gaining exposure to year end audit

The position is a great first step out of practice or for someone working within a post and ready to make their next professional step in their career and have greater hands-on experience in a smaller business that develops its staff. Study support will be provided and additional guidance offered as you progress your exams. The client has an office-first approach with 4 to 5 days in the office to aid in development and support – flexibility is available where needed.

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000
