Job Summary:

The JPMAM Global Alternatives, Global Transportation Group is seeking to recruit a London-based, highly motivated, results-oriented finance professional with strong corporate finance and organizational skills and high personal standards. The Asset Management Vice President will be involved in all aspects of the team’s activities including managing the existing portfolio, client support and reporting, financial analysis/modelling, portfolio company governance and management, industry analysis, enhancing and improving organizational processes, investor and internal reporting, managing controls and policies, due diligence, and other related tasks as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor, track and report asset portfolio metrics for a diverse fleet of transportation assets.
  2. Develop and implement systems and processes to facilitate the investment and capital raising cycle.
  3. Assist in the planning, development and deployment of technology solutions to enable enhanced productivity across front, middle and back office.
  4. Provide governance and controls for support functions including structuring, treasury, corporate secretarial, finance and controls management.
  5. Interface with controls and compliance to ensure appropriate internal protocols are maintained, updated and followed.
  6. Seek solutions to enhance group efficiency.
  7. Monitor and optimize the performance (organizational and financial) of Group portfolio companies.
  8. Attend and prepare information for Group Company board meetings.
  9. In conjunction with the Finance Team lead, assist in the control of Group profitability, including Fund expense management.
  10. Interact with clients, providing clear communication and updates on a wide range of industry topics, transaction analysis and due diligence processes.
  11. Develop, enhance, and maintain analytical financial models to analyze portfolio company performance.
  12. Manage the portfolio budget versus actual and variance analysis on a quarterly basis.
  13. Interact with a variety of external constituents including legal advisers and service providers.
  14. Manage and support asset delivery from sellers and subsequent deployment into leasing activities. Similarly, participate in and support asset delivery to buyers during asset sales process in conjunction with technical managers.
  15. Support tracking and review of asset performance during hold periods.
  16. Otherwise participate in, support, and contribute to the execution of the Global Transportation Group's asset management process and investment return goals.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  1. Experience at a major bulge bracket investment bank, commercial bank or management consultancy, or experience with a major international law firm with transportation finance experience.
  2. Experience ideally includes transaction work in the global transportation industries.
  3. A high degree of organizational efficiency.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  5. Project finance, private equity, and financial sponsors experience preferred.
  6. Superior analytical skills, detailed knowledge and deep understanding of the deployment of processes and controls across complex multidisciplinary teams.
  7. Familiarity with contractual and financial arrangements and documentation underpinning equity and debt investments.
  8. Must be able to communicate effectively, and build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including support functions, investors, banks and intermediaries, due diligence providers, brokers, lawyers, etc.
  9. Robust knowledge of financial modelling and strong quantitative analytical skills plus accounting.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple time zones.
  11. Presentation skills with board level presentation experience.
  12. Extremely high level of attention to detail essential, with an ability to mentor and train junior resources.
  13. Ability to negotiate complex transactions (e.g. joint ventures, syndicate deals) involving equity investments.
  14. Proficient in MS Office applications and working knowledge of databases and reference sources.
  15. Fluency in at least one foreign language (in addition to English) will be viewed favourably, especially French, Spanish, German or Chinese (Mandarin).
  16. Master’s Degree from a globally-recognised institution.
