We are Investors in People (IIP) Gold accredited, which reflects our organisation's commitment to our employees who are a vital part of supporting our engineers. We are now looking for an Assessment Development Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
As the Assessment Development Manager for End Point Assessment (EPA), you will oversee the entire lifecycle of assessment processes for apprenticeships. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards whilst leading the development and delivery of robust, valid, and reliable assessments within the engineering sector. You will ensure that all assessments authentically reflect the intended learning outcomes, are reliably administered, and adhere to regulatory requirements. You will maintain and implement a comprehensive Assessment Delivery Strategy for EPA, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and reliability of assessments.
Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the creation of fair, reliable, and consistent marking structures, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  2. Ensure assessments are a true measure of learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  3. Effectively lead the EPA Assessment team.
  4. Develop a programme to continuously develop and test the validity of assessment materials.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that assessments are relevant, reliable, and aligned with industry needs.
About You
To be considered as an Assessment Development Manager, you will need:
  1. At a minimum, five years experience in a management role in an engineering or technical environment, supported by relevant qualifications and a good understanding of assessment methodologies, policy and practice.
  2. Experience of the design, development, and delivery of a variety of assessments.
  3. Experience of developing, designing and delivering online assessments using proctor software.
  4. A high level of expertise in Ofqual Conditions of Recognition, IfATE and ESFA.
  5. An extensive background in managing quality assurance functions within a regulated Awarding Organisation.
The Benefits
  1. Salary of circa £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  2. 26 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays.
  3. An extra day off for your birthday.
  4. Benefits including stakeholder pension scheme, life assurance and private health cover.
  5. Continuous training and career development.
  6. A range of wellbeing benefits to encourage a healthy work-life balance.
If you are an engineering apprenticeship professional with a background in an EPA or awarding organisation, this is the perfect opportunity to lead and innovate within our globally recognised institution, dedicated to advancing the mechanical engineering profession.
By joining an Investors in People (IIP) Gold accredited organisation, you will be part of a team that values and invests in your professional growth, providing continuous training and career development opportunities.
