Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client for a dedicated and skilled Assembly Operative. This role offers a great work-life balance and the chance to join a friendly and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Working with Bandsaw, Drill, and Grinder: You will prepare steel for fabrication using various tools such as bandsaws, drills, and grinders. Precision and careful handling are essential to ensure the quality of the prepared materials.
  2. Following Engineering Drawings: Although not essential, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is highly advantageous. Training can be provided to enhance your skills in this area, ensuring you can review and follow detailed specifications accurately.
  3. Counterbalance Fork Truck Experience: Experience with a counterbalance fork truck is beneficial but not mandatory. If you do not have this experience, training will be given to ensure you can safely and efficiently operate the machinery.
  4. Installation of Threaded Pipework: You will be responsible for the installation of threaded pipework, ensuring all connections are secure and meet the required standards.
  5. Mechanical Fit-Up of Welded Pipework: Assemble and fit welded pipework accurately, ensuring the mechanical integrity and alignment of components.
  6. Pressure Testing: Conduct pressure tests on assembled components to verify their strength and integrity, ensuring they meet the required specifications before proceeding to the next stage.
  7. Inspection/Quality Checks: Perform thorough inspections and quality checks on all assembled products to ensure they meet the highest standards. Attention to detail is critical to identify any discrepancies or defects.
  8. Packaging of Completed Product: Once the assembly and quality checks are complete, you will package the finished products carefully, ensuring they are protected during transportation and delivery.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as an Assembly Operative, particularly within the engineering or fabrication industry.
  2. Proficient in using bandsaws, drills, and grinders.
  3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (training can be provided).
  4. Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  5. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  6. Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  7. Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks.

Hours: 08:00am – 16:45pm, Monday to Thursday, 08:00am – 13:00pm Fridays.
