Aspiring Youth Worker

This role is ideal if you have experience in SEN, a psychology, criminology or sociology degree and have career aspirations to become a Youth Worker.

Are you dedicated to supporting children who have come from hardship?

Are you keen to gain experience with children who have SEN?

We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Youth Worker to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs. This school is based in Worthing for children aged 6-16 and has specialized in SEMH to provide exceptional education and support for traumatized children and young people.

You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behavior, ADHD or Autism and also have developed mental health issues due to their needs and require additional support with improving social, emotional and mental well-being.

Responsibilities of an Aspiring Youth Worker:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students.
  • Provide behavior and pastoral support.
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists.
  • Adopt a practical approach to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.

  • Have an understanding of challenging behavior.
