Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Teaching Assistant - LSA

Location: Staines

Salary: From £95 per day

Job Type: Full-time

Are you passionate about child development and psychology? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with diverse learning and emotional needs?

About the Role:

You will support children aged 5-11, helping them overcome learning barriers, develop confidence, and build essential social and emotional skills. This experience will provide invaluable insights into working with children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build trusting relationships with children to help them feel safe, valued, and supported.
  2. Assist in identifying learning and emotional difficulties and implementing appropriate interventions.
  3. Support children in developing resilience, confidence, and independence in their learning.
  4. Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.
  5. Help track progress and provide feedback to teachers and support teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Passion for Educational Psychology: A strong interest in child development, SEN, and mental health support.
  2. Relevant Background: Graduates in Psychology, Education, or related fields are encouraged to apply (non-graduates with relevant experience are also welcome).
  3. Empathy and Patience: A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  4. Desire to Learn: A willingness to gain hands-on experience before pursuing further studies in Educational Psychology or related professions.
  5. Experience with Children: Previous experience in education, SEN, or mental health support is desirable but not essential—full training is provided.
