Are you passionate about child development and psychology? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with diverse learning and emotional needs?

About the Role:

You will support children aged 5-11, helping them overcome learning barriers, develop confidence, and build essential social and emotional skills. This experience will provide invaluable insights into working with children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Observe and Support Child Development: Work closely with children who have additional learning and emotional needs, gaining first-hand experience in understanding their challenges.
  2. Implement Psychological Strategies: Support the use of interventions, such as emotion regulation techniques, social skills training, and behaviour management strategies.
  3. Work One-on-One and in Small Groups: Provide tailored support to children with a range of learning and emotional needs.
  4. Collaborate with Professionals: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Passion for Educational Psychology: A strong interest in child development, SEN, and mental health support.
  2. Relevant Background: Graduates in Psychology, Education, or related fields are encouraged to apply (non-graduates with relevant experience are also welcome).
  3. Empathy and Patience: A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  4. Desire to Learn: A willingness to gain hands-on experience before pursuing further studies in Educational Psychology or related professions.
  5. Experience with Children: Previous experience in education, SEN, or mental health support is desirable but not essential—full training is provided.

Why Join Milk Education?

  1. Valuable Experience: Gain direct experience with children with additional learning needs, preparing you for further studies in Educational Psychology or related fields.
  2. Specialist Training: Receive support and training in SEN, behaviour management, and intervention strategies.
  3. Professional Development: Work alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals, and psychologists, developing skills that will support your career progression.
  4. Supportive Environment: Join a welcoming school community committed to inclusion and child development.
  5. Make a Real Impact: Help children overcome challenges and achieve their potential through evidence-based support strategies.
