Aspiring Clinical Psychologist - Camberley - Education and Training - Special Needs - SEN - Graduate - Psychology

Are you passionate about demonstrating the value of education to vulnerable children?

The School - Camberley

We are looking for a dedicated Graduate to work as an Aspiring Clinical Psychologist / Autism Support Assistant at a lovely school in Camberley, for children aged 4-19. The school has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social and therapeutic needs of students, focusing on individual happiness and well-being where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

This Aspiring Clinical Psychologist role is an amazing opportunity to put your studies to practice and gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable children with additional needs. Many of the children you will be working with face various barriers due to their complex needs, and you will be instrumental in providing consistency, and equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.

You will be working alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students with learning difficulties, including autism, sensory impairments, physical difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and associated challenging behaviours. Some of the professionals you will be working alongside include Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Counsellors. You will receive additional education and training.

Person Specification for Aspiring Clinical Psychologist:
  1. Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  3. Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with students
  4. Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
  5. High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  6. Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work

Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students

£85-£105 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only, Camberley

No previous experience is required
