Locum Pharmacy Technician (Band 5) – Aseptics/Technical Services – London

Are you a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician looking for a rewarding locum role in London? We have an exciting opportunity for you to gain experience in Aseptics/Technical Services within an NHS hospital!

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Band 5) – Aseptics/Technical Services

Location: London

Duration: Ongoing contract

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Hours contracted between 8am – 6pm, e.g., 9am – 5pm (30-minute break) or 10am – 6pm (30-minute break).

Start Date: April/May

End Date: Ongoing

  • Rate of Pay: £18 - £24 per hour, depending on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our client’s Aseptics/Technical Services team and gain valuable experience in a highly specialised area of pharmacy. In this role, you will:

  • Work in a cleanroom environment preparing chemotherapy, TPN, CIVAS, and other aseptically prepared medicines.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and hospital guidelines.
  • Follow strict sterile techniques to maintain high-quality standards in medicine preparation.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and quality assurance teams.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure patient safety and product integrity.

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid GPhC registration.
  • Previous experience in Aseptics/Technical Services (preferred but not essential – full training provided).
  • Knowledge of cleanroom procedures and aseptic techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a regulated hospital environment.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

This role is Monday to Friday, with a 37.5-hour working week. Shifts are scheduled between 8am – 6pm, offering flexibility with start times such as 9am – 5pm or 10am – 6pm with a 30-minute break. The contract is ongoing with potential extensions based on performance and service needs.
