Senior ASC Solicitor - OUTSIDE IR35

Location: East Midlands

Rate: £50-60 per hour DOE

Contract: 3 months with view to extend

Fully remote // Outside IR35

An East Midlands based local authority is seeking an experienced Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to provide expert legal advice and services to the Council and external clients. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the authority operates within legal frameworks while delivering high-quality services to the community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality legal and administrative advice to the County Council and external clients.
2. Support the Monitoring Officer in legal and governance matters.
3. Handle complex and high-profile cases, offering expert advice on public law and governance.
4. Represent the Council in legal proceedings, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
6. Contribute to policy development, ensuring alignment with legal requirements.
7. Provide training and guidance to colleagues, members, and partners.

Candidate Requirements

1. Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive) with relevant experience.
2. Expertise in adult social care law and local government legal frameworks.
3. Strong case management skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
4. Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and legal drafting skills.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a risk-based approach.
