About the role:

We are looking for a charismatic Area Sales Representative for our Local Government Highways Division. This position requires you to sell a wide range of our highway's products, including road safety products, bollards, winter safety and water safety.

Our key customers for these products are Local Authorities, traffic management and highways maintenance organisations, and their contractors and consultants. Therefore, commitment to building long-lasting customer relationships is essential.

The position covers a large geographical territory encompassing Warwickshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcester, Gwent, Powys, Dyfed and Glamorgan. Ideally, we would like you to be located central to the territory in either Warwick, Coventry, Birmingham, Northampton, Banbury, Milton Keynes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Visit customers face to face to demonstrate and present a wide range of market leading products.
  2. Plan and prioritise a geographical territory to arrange customer meetings.
  3. Identify new business opportunities and prospect non-user accounts.
  4. Follow up on sales leads and arrange customer meetings.
  5. Liaise with existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
  6. Interpret sales reports, trends and legislation to identify commercial markets and product opportunities.
  7. Participate in team sales meetings and share product / market knowledge.
  8. Work with in-house Product Design team to develop new products from concept through to production.
  9. Visit trade shows and exhibitions to introduce and showcase our product range.

Ideal Candidate Background:

  1. Strong Commercial Awareness.
  2. Experience within field sales, account management, business development and/or customer support roles.
  3. Familiar with selling products online and/or face to face via demonstration and/or presentation.
  4. Strong understanding and articulation of features and benefits.
  5. Knowledge of efficient planning and management of a large geographical territory.
  6. A genuine interest towards developing a career in account management.
  7. A high level of self-motivation and determination to achieve goals and targets.
  8. Good level of IT Literacy.
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills.
  11. Charismatic and passionate with a stable career background.
  12. Educated to A-Levels and/or University Degree or equivalent (desirable).
  13. Full, Clean UK driving licence.

Salary:

  1. Competitive commencing salary.
