Area to be covered: North West and North Wales

Remuneration: £40,000-£46,000 Neg. + 20% bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Natural Slate Roof Tiles will involve:

1. Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of predominantly slate roofing tiles, but also natural slate ventilated facades and natural slate solar panels.
2. 40% of your time winning specifications with regional housebuilders, architects, quantity surveyors and other specifiers.
3. 30% of your time new business development, stimulating demand with roofing contractors.
4. 30% account managing and recruiting roofing merchants and builders merchants.
5. Revenue responsibility of circa £3.5m.
6. Following up on ABI leads.
7. Projects can range in length from 6-18 months.
8. Typically four and half days on the road visiting customers, half a day a week working from home (admin).
9. Searching and proposing new stockists and technical solutions adapted to customer needs.
10. Managing and coordinating end-to-end projects from closing the deal to the on-site installation.

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Natural Slate Roof Tiles with:

1. Field sales proven track record promoting construction materials or building products.
2. Ideally in roofing or associated industry.
3. Must have sold to contractors or builders merchants.
4. Ideally some specification sales experience with regional housebuilders, architects, quantity surveyors or other specifiers.
5. Stable career history/no journey field sales people.
6. Articulate with an ability to influence at multiple levels.
7. Knowledge of natural stone materials is not essential.
8. Dynamic and proactive approach.
9. Stable career patch, no job hoppers.
10. Not a nine to five mentality.
11. Excellent territory planning skills.
