Job description

Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager required to join a leading global Mechanical Engineering Manufacturer.


The successful Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer / Business Development will focus on developing new business opportunities and managing key accounts for mechanical handling related equipment such as conveyors, chains, sprockets, valves, lubrication, and similar products/systems across the Southwest and Southeast of the UK, including London.


The successful candidate will ideally have experience selling mechanical handling products or technical mechanical engineering products/solutions within manufacturing, food, biomass waste/power generation, or similar.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Develop new business opportunities and manage key accounts for mechanical handling related equipment.
  2. Maintain mechanical handling product and system sales through demonstration, exhibition, and negotiation to achieve targets.
  3. Provide pre-sales technical assistance and end solution/application support for all customer needs/requirements.
  4. Offer after-sales support services and technical backup as required to customers across various industries.
  5. Work remotely/field-based covering the Southwest and Southeast of the UK, including London, with regular visits to customer sites.
  6. Liaise with various engineering departments.

Requirements

  1. Experience as a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, or similar within a mechanical engineering environment.
  2. Experience selling or managing key accounts for mechanical handling related equipment is highly desirable.
  3. Proven sales experience in industries such as construction, mining, manufacturing, food, biomass waste/power generation is strongly advised.
  4. Full clean driving license.
  5. Willingness to operate remotely with travel to customer sites across the South of the UK, including London.
