AREA SALES MANAGER

About the Client:

Our client is a prominent provider of Shoring and Groundworks solutions. Their products are designed to support complex construction and engineering projects with reliability and efficiency. They are now seeking an experienced and successful ASM.

Roles/Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Shoring or Groundworks sector.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  4. Provide technical expertise and support to customers.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product improvement.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Shoring or Groundworks sales or related field.
  2. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  3. Strong technical background and knowledge of Shoring/Groundworks.
  4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  5. Ability to travel nationally as required.
Benefits:

Basic salary £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
Company car or car allowance
Commission based on revenue with base and stretch targets.
Expected total take-home pay of £100,000 - £150,000 per annum.

Additional Information:
  1. Field sales position selling predominantly the hire (but also the sale) of ground shoring products including: trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifters, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products.
  2. Opportunity to sell formwork and falsework.
  3. Vacancy has come about through a leaver; you will inherit a turnover of just under £800,000.
  4. Responsible for growing the area, although it is not expected that you will generate revenue in the first six months.
  5. Huge opportunity for growth in this area.
  6. Project sizes will vary from £1,000 (a few trench boxes for a few weeks) up to £6,000+ per week for projects lasting 6 months+ (e.g. 2-3 story basement projects).
  7. Visiting construction sites typically 4 days per week and on average 4 customer visits per day.
  8. Utilising a team of qualified engineers for technical support.
The ideal applicant will have:
  1. Preferably ground shoring, temporary works or civil engineering field sales experience.
  2. Knowledge of formwork and falsework may be beneficial down the line when selling the wider portfolio.
  3. Experience selling into groundworkers.
  4. Open to technical groundshoring backgrounds looking for their first field sales role.
  5. Open to hire or sales industry field sales experience.
  6. Proven territory management skills/field sales proven track record preferred.
  7. Contacts within groundworkers may be beneficial.
  8. Construction site experience.
  9. Specific knowledge of trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifter, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products is not essential.
