Job description

Jestico + Whiles is a friendly, design-orientated architecture and interior design practice based in Clerkenwell. We are currently seeking a mid-level Architectural Technologist/Technician to support our teams. In this role, you will leverage your advanced Revit skills to produce detailed technical drawings and models, ensure precise detailing for drawing production, and actively coordinate with other disciplines to solve design challenges. We’re looking for a technically driven professional who thrives in a collaborative, problem‐solving environment.

Your role will combine digital design expertise with construction knowledge, enabling you to liaise effectively with external and internal teams to support project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Revit Modelling & Construction Detailing:

  1. Develop and refine Revit models in line with our in‐house standards and the UK BIM Framework.
  2. Produce comprehensive technical drawings and detailed documentation for construction projects.

Coordination & Collaboration:

  1. Liaise with external stakeholders to resolve coordination issues and integrate design details effectively to ensure design continuity and adherence to current Building Regulations.
  2. Participate in project meetings, ensuring that drawing production and detailing processes meet project requirements.

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:

  1. Uphold quality and consistency in drawing production by ensuring adherence to established technical standards.
  2. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our modelling practices and BIM workflows to improve overall efficiency, working closely with our Digital Design Manager.

Technical Support & Communication:

  1. Provide guidance and support to team members on advanced Revit techniques, digital design tools and construction detailing.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies, and share insights through regular feedback and training sessions.
Key Qualifications

Experience:

  1. A minimum of mid-level experience in an architectural or construction environment with demonstrated expertise in Revit.
  2. CIAT qualification (or equivalent) or working towards.

Technical Skills:

  1. Advanced proficiency in Revit and a strong technical understanding of drawing production and detailing.
  2. Good knowledge of parametric modelling and basic formula writing.
  3. Good knowledge of building regulations and awareness of building safety act requirements.

Soft Skills:

  1. Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively across teams.
  2. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for technical detail.
  3. An interest in computational design and continuous learning.

Preferred Attributes

  1. Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  2. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  3. An ongoing commitment to learning new software techniques and improving BIM processes.
