Job Description:

We are working in partnership with a leading international independent education business who, due to further expansion of their global portfolio of high-end campuses, are looking for an Architectural Design & Development Manager to join their London team. The role would suit a Part III qualified design-oriented Architect who is looking to develop their skills across the full project lifecycle.

Remuneration:

  • London office hybrid 3/2 setup

The successful Architect will oversee new development and existing campus asset enhancement projects across the project lifecycle. Due to the location of the projects, there would be the opportunity to travel internationally circa 2 to 3 times per year. The role will have a heavier focus on the front-end RIBA 0 – 3 design (with data-driven efficiency technology), looking at space planning, acquisition due diligence, early feasibility and concept stages, and then moving into a higher level design guardian oversight of the external architects and development teams across the RIBA 4 - 6 project lifecycle.

A core part of the role will involve stakeholder management and communication with the development, delivery, and education teams across the globe. Therefore, the role would suit a qualified architect with exceptional communication skills and solid technical experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative, Excel models, SketchUp, with MS Project as a preference.

Requirements:

  • Experience in overseeing school or university projects; international experience, especially in the US, would be an advantage.
  • Strong technical design ability, particularly in the front-end feasibility, concept, and space planning stages.
  • Good Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, and SketchUp skills; advantageous if you have used MS Project.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability with a proactive and open personality.

This is a great opportunity for a driven Architect who wants to progress their career in a fast-paced client-side environment.
