Job Description - The Role

AMS is the world's leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for an Architectural Assistant for a 6 month contract based in London.

Candidate Profile: Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience

As part of the global firm of 16,000 designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical experts in more than 90 offices around the world, we have unrivalled access to the skills and expertise needed to create 'Total Architecture'. Our projects span various sectors, including transport, sport, science and industry, commercial buildings, and social infrastructure.

About You

  • Right now we're looking for a motivated and creative Assistant Architect/ Designer with post-Part 2 or equivalent, who is keen to be involved in challenging and innovative projects, based in our office in London.
  • You will join a vibrant, diverse, multidisciplinary office. Working directly with the Architecture Team, you will provide strong design support through all stages of project development in a range of multidisciplinary projects.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Master's in architecture or equivalent. Minimum RIBA Part 2 or equivalent.
  • Post Part 2 work experience for a recognised design organisation or client body.
  • Demonstrates design flair with both creative and analytical skills, 3D thinking and ability to draw by hand alongside knowledge of relevant design and visualisation software applications.
  • Highly motivated, proactive with a passion for learning new skills in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment. Communicative, curious, collaborative, conceptual thinker, collegiate with excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Responsible, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills and team-work spirit.
  • Excellent Revit skills, able to document and model following client standards, and the ability to integrate workflows with visualisation software such as Lumion or Enscape.
  • Demonstrable interest in sustainability and climate change resilience.
