Job description

Freehaus is looking for an exceptional architect to join our team on a three day a week basis initially. The ideal candidate will be qualified Architect, Senior Architect with an ambition to lead and deliver projects in the Oxfordshire / Cotswolds area. Ideally, they will have Microstation experience and preferably a good working knowledge of Revit.

Current projects in this area include the refurbishment of the Listed Hook Norton Brewery Stables, Upper Lighthorne Community, ICB and Police Headquarters for Stratford District Council and a number of exciting private residential projects including Ashton Water Tower which featured on Grand Designs.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Oxfordshire/ North Cotswolds Area, initially working flexibly from home and meeting regularly and in person with other Cotswolds based staff as required. In time this candidate may be required to work from an Oxfordshire based studio under our standard flexible working policy (currently 3 days a week). The candidate will also be required to travel to our London studio, circa 2 days per month to support and work alongside our London based team on wider project outputs.

The position requires the following essential experience/criteria:

• ARB registration with 3+ years post Part III experience,
• The ability to lead multiple projects,
• Be confident in client facing and community stakeholder engagement roles,
• RIBA Stage 0-7 experience,
• Proficiency in leading application for planning listed building and building regulation submissions,
• Good understanding in construction details and building regulation compliance,
• The ability to lead a design team, consultants and mentor others,
• The ability to author reports and other written documents,
• Proficiency in Contract Administration,
• Principal Designer competence is preferred,
• Contribute to general practice studio management responsibilities and contribute to practice marketing drives, competitions, bids and pitches,
• MicroStation / Revit, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator proficiency is preferred,
• Hold a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
