Architect, Architectural Technologist / Technician

A busy Oak Framing company based on the outskirts of central Bath, English Oak Buildings have a new opportunity for an Architect, Architectural Technologist / Technician to join our team. We are looking for an all-rounder with experience.

Candidates will need to demonstrate high levels of knowledge and experience in the role, as well as a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

The successful candidate will require the following skills:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Architect, Architectural Technologist / Technician role.
• Experience using AutoCAD and SketchUp and MS office.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations & Building Standards in the building sector.
• Experience working on projects from conception through to completion which will incorporate the concept design, planning drawings & application, technical design and building regs applications.
• Liaising with consultants such as a structural engineer and energy assessors throughout the project.
• Liaising with installation teams, suppliers and clients.
• Providing detailed work instructions to members of the team that will include material specifications.
• Producing design quotes.
• Carrying out measured surveys on site.
• Good time management and self-organisation.
• Strong communicator and team player.
• Oak frame fabrication drawings (if no oak frame experience, training provided).

The position will be office based and so we are looking for someone within a short commutable distance to our office close to central Bath (BA2).
