POSITION: ARCHAEOLOGIST (JUNIOR TO INTERMEDIATE)
LOCATION: Fort St. John, Terrace, BC Offices
ROY NORTHERN LAND AND ENVIRONMENTAL is an expanding progressive surface land and environmental consulting firm with an interest in oil and gas, forestry, mining, energy, and agricultural industries, as well as municipal authorities throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Canada’s north. We employ a team of over 85 staff members located in our Fairview, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Terrace offices, and we offer interdisciplinary expertise to develop environmental solutions for our clients throughout western Canada. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Graduate Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
- 1+ years of relevant archaeological experience
- BC Field Director or Permit Holder, or eligible to apply, desired but not required
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office
- Current Safety Tickets (i.e., First Aid, H2S) preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

- Willing to travel and work away from home periodically

- Willingness to assist in other aspects of Roy Northern services
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help set up and prepare for archaeological assessments for forestry, mine, oil and gas facility and pipeline projects
- Execute archaeological field programs as per the direction of project Field Directors
- Upload and properly file field data
- Assist with sections of technical reports
- Gain and maintain an understanding of applicable BC heritage regulations, guidelines and associated industry practices
- Document and keep records in accordance with Roy Northern’s Quality Management Plan
