Arable Operator – Malton, North Yorkshire - £45,000

The Job:
We are seeking an experienced Spray Operator to join a 250-acre arable farm and agricultural contracting business. This full-time, permanent role involves a wide variety of responsibilities including field preparation, crop management, machinery maintenance, and land care. You will be involved in essential operations such as ploughing, fertiliser spraying, bailing, and more, while also assisting with machinery and land maintenance during the winter months.

Field Operations:

1. Ploughing, cultivations, drilling, and fertiliser spreading
2. Fertiliser spraying to maintain crop health
3. Bale handling, including baling straw and haylage
4. Assisting with harvesting own combinable arable crops such as wheat, barley, and beans

Machinery & Land Maintenance (Winter Months):

1. Regular maintenance and servicing of farm machinery
2. Land maintenance tasks including fencing, repairing, and fabricating equipment as needed

The Candidate:

1. Previous experience in agricultural contracting and arable farming
2. Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery
3. Competency in spraying, fertiliser spreading, and crop management operations
4. Strong work ethic and attention to detail
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Experience in fabricating, servicing, and fencing is desirable but not essential
7. Full UK driving licence (essential)

The Package:

1. Salary £37,500 - £45,000 DOE
2. Spraying bonus of 25p per hectare
3. Opportunities for career progression within the farm
