The Opportunity
This role is based at our Glasgow Traincare Centre. An excellent opportunity to join a world-leading Engineering Company where you will work alongside qualified Technicians at our traincare centres. The depot carries out various maintenance and overhaul activities, including daily safety inspections, routine exams, corrective maintenance, and reliability modifications.
Your day-to-day activities will involve learning about and supporting operational activities around maintaining trains, including loco-hauled coaching stock and various fleet overhauls. You will be part of a multifunctional team responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults along with undertaking daily service exams.
Over a 3-year program, you will combine academic college studies with real-life work-based experience across our organisation. Your qualification will be completed at Glasgow Clyde College – Training will be delivered by day release. The remainder of the time is spent at work in the depot. Accommodation and travel costs are met by the company.
You will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.
