Our design engineering team focuses on key projects for our Global Marine and Navy business unit. By joining Johnson Controls, you will be joining a global leader in engineering and integrated solutions.
You'll work with innovative technology and solutions and learn how to plan and effectively manage projects that protect individuals and businesses. Mentored by experienced design engineers, you'll gain real–world experience with access to top training facilities.
What You'll Do at WorkAn apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills while applying your knowledge to real–world live projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore your potential and you'll enjoy full support from the marine team. You will be required to ensure that you adhere to safe working practices and also be able to take instructions and act upon them in a prompt and professional manner.

Your Training CourseYou will gain a level 3 Engineering Design Technician qualification.
Your Training PlanYou will have a day release to train but this will be done remotely.
Requirements / Essential QualificationsLet the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
SkillsThis exciting opportunity may involve traveling so you need to be comfortable traveling to customer sites and staying away occasionally.

After This ApprenticeshipUpon completion of this apprenticeship, there are many internal opportunities within the company. Many of our previous apprentices have become lead design engineers and take control of their own team and projects.

What's Next?Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview. Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
