Apprentice Maintenance Engineer
Salary:

College Location: IPS International, Northbank House, Sir Thomas Longley Rd, Rochester, ME2 4DU

We're committed to the ongoing personal and professional development of our colleagues and we're now recruiting for an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our site engineering team at Sittingbourne.


So, what's the role about?

We are looking for our 2025 intake of Engineering Apprentices to shape the future of our Engineering function at Marshalls.


This comprehensive 4-year apprenticeship offers a structured learning experience, delivered in partnership with IPS International, and complemented by hands-on mentoring on our manufacturing site. You'll follow a personalised training plan, supported by both your dedicated mentor and your manager, gaining valuable practical experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll get to work alongside our skilled engineering team with the ultimate goal of becoming a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer.


Your first year will involve attending college 5 days per week, so you would need to make sure you can commute to both Sittingbourne site and IPS International.


Your first year will be spent attending college five days per week at IPS International. From Year 2 onwards, you'll transition to full-time, on-site work at our Sittingbourne manufacturing site. Therefore, you must be able to reliably commute between the IPS International and our Sittingbourne site.

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Minimum education of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English and Science
  • You'll need a strong work ethic and a keen interest in the world of engineering and manufacturing
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own
  • It would be beneficial if you had your own method of transport due to the location of the site
In return, we will provide you with full support along your 4-year Apprentice journey, progressing you towards becoming a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer with a permanent job following a successful apprenticeship.
