Job Summary
Are you excited to kickstart your career in the dynamic realm of fire and security systems? Join Johnson Controls, a global frontrunner in the fire and security sector, and play a vital role in crafting safer environments for our diverse clientele!


What You'll Do at Work

  1. Embark on a thrilling journey as you install, commission, and maintain electronic systems designed to protect people, properties, and assets.
  2. Gain in-depth knowledge about our cutting-edge systems, including fire detection, intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control solutions.
  3. Hit the road in your own company van, visiting a variety of sites, from residential to commercial and retail locations.
  4. Collaborate with a dedicated team, absorbing invaluable skills that will pave the way to becoming a qualified fire and security engineer.

Where You'll Work
The apprentice will primarily travel within the Aberdeen region; however, travel may also be required across the South Scotland Region, depending on job requirements. This role will involve a vast amount of travel.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Level 6 Electronic Fire and Security Qualification.


Your Training Plan
Enrol in a Level 6 Electronic Fire and Security Qualification delivered by New College Lanarkshire alongside fellow Johnson Controls apprentices. Engage in day release training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers.


Requirements / Essential Qualifications

  1. National Grade 5 in English essential.
  2. National Grade 5 in Maths essential.
  3. Full Driving Licence essential.

After This Apprenticeship
Upon completing this apprenticeship, numerous internal opportunities within the company will be available to you. Many of our previous apprentices have advanced to lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.

What's Next?
Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview. Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
