Job description

Stratasys, a world leader in 3D Printing, is accelerating its growth in production-scale 3D printing. The Technology Development and Demonstration Centre is based at the Nottingham Science Park.

We are now hiring a Corporate Application Engineer to support a range of projects in our growing Selective Absorption Fusion (SAF) business. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that our industrial 3D Printing products deliver maximum value to our customers and comprises 4 main areas:

  1. Creation of sales/marketing collateral: Running projects to create data, for example with case studies or whitepapers, that can be used by sales and marketing to create collateral to support sales.
  2. Create and provide training to internal stakeholders and customers.
  3. Customer escalations: Aiding regional Applications Engineers or customers when they have been unable to solve technical challenges.
  4. Benchmarking: Produce benchmark parts and provide relevant information to support pre-sales.

The role involves running industrial 3D Printing equipment and associated technologies in our Technology Development and Demonstration Centre while liaising closely with colleagues and customers across the globe.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Become a specialist in our industrial 3D Printing products.
  • Taking a systematic and hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Occasional travel to external sites.
  • Be competent in the operation of supporting equipment and facilities including pre- and post-processing equipment and testing equipment such as tensile testing, accuracy testing etc.
  • Training of new and current staff and colleagues/customers including Design for Additive Manufacturing.
  • Provide customer support when required.
  • Process improvement and adherence to H&S standards and operating procedures.

Key Challenges: Balancing conflicting priorities e.g., customers, quality, manufacturing and sales within agreed ways of working and processes.

Person Specification:

  • Technical Degree/Experience: BEng/MEng/MSC or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Collateral Creation: Experience in collateral creation and writing reports.
  • Customer Facing Role: Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Industrial Equipment Experience: Experience working with industrial equipment.
  • 3rd Party Collaboration: Experience working with 3rd party collaborators/customers in a manufacturing and/or technical environment.
  • Health and Safety Requirements: Experience working to strict Health and Safety requirements.
  • Microsoft Office and Excel: Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • CAD Experience: CAD experience with SOLIDWORKS and Design for Additive Manufacturing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Injection Moulding Experience: Experience with injection moulding, CBNC machining, and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Polymer Powder Bed Fusion Experience: Experience with Polymer Powder Bed Fusion based Additive Manufacturing processes.

This position is based primarily in Nottingham, UK. There will be occasional travel, including overseas to visit customers, technology partners, exhibitions, and Stratasys Global offices.
