Job Opportunity: Application Engineer - Electric Drivetrains


Are you ready to drive innovation in the automotive industry? Manpower are working with a specialist in intelligent drive technology and systems organisation to recruit a dynamic and skilled Application Engineer to join their team. Based in Ireland but predominantly home and customer site-based, this is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects.


About the company: They offer high-efficiency, reliable solutions to industries such as oil and gas, energy, mining, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles. Our work spans developing new build solutions with OEMs to providing full aftermarket support, including spare parts, repairs, and overhaul services.


The Role


As an Application Engineer, you will:

  1. Collaborate with Customers and OEMs to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
  2. Support joint development projects, offering technical advice, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
  3. Plan and execute electric drivetrain projects, conducting feasibility studies and analysing vehicle data.
  4. Test and commission prototype and new vehicles.
  5. Ensure products meet industry standards and regulations, providing consistent customer service.
  6. Assist with preparing technical documentation, including user manuals and specifications.
  7. Participate in technical service meetings, both on-site and online.
  8. Act as the first point of contact for customer queries and complaints.
  9. Contribute to internal planning and training initiatives to support future projects.

What We're Looking For


We're seeking adaptable, forward-thinking professionals with:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Experience: Background in field services or the automotive industry, with expertise in commercial automotive systems.
  3. Technical Skills:
    1. Knowledge of electric drivetrains and electrical engineering.
    2. Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and C/C++ programming.
    3. Experience using tools such as Vector CANalyzer and the Vector Toolchain.
  4. Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities.
  5. A proactive mindset and ability to thrive in challenging environments.

What We Offer


Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) + annual bonus.


Work Schedule: 36.5 hours/week (Monday - Friday, with an early Friday finish).
