Job Description:

Our highly ranked tier one law firm client seeks a 3-6 PQE Associate to join a leading antitrust practice with a focus on UK and EU competition law, particularly within the tech, consumer, and financial sectors. They combine a welcoming, diverse culture and enlightened attitude to flexibility with very high performance.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a ranked senior partner who brings extensive experience from both private practice and senior leadership roles within the UK competition regulator. Any Competition law private practice background is welcome as they have a number of junior team members who need to build technical expertise across the discipline.

In this role, you will support on a range of matters including merger control, market investigations, antitrust compliance, and foreign investment reviews. You will work on high-profile transactions and regulatory matters involving some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advising on UK and EU merger filings and managing multijurisdictional clearance processes
  • Supporting clients in navigating antitrust investigations and enforcement actions
  • Preparing submissions to regulators and helping clients respond to in-depth reviews and remedies
  • Advising on regulatory strategy and policy developments, particularly in digital markets
  • Working across sectors including tech, online platforms, consumer goods, infrastructure, and healthcare

You’ll also have the chance to engage directly with competition authorities, gaining further insight into how regulatory bodies operate, particularly the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority.

The team’s work combines legal precision with strategic thinking, and you’ll be expected to contribute to both. This is an exciting opportunity for a competition lawyer with strong analytical skills and an interest in how regulation shapes fast-moving industries.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 PQE E&W qualified, or commonwealth qualified with London or Brussels experience, and have had exposure to a highly regarded city firm, silver/magic circle or peer US firm.
