Job description

Anti Racist Practice Lead

Fixed-term Contract (18 months) Salary £55,147 to £60,676 (scale M)

Hybrid working

In Norfolk, we place relationships at the heart of our practice across Children’s Services. Our work with families is about building trust, celebrating strengths and working to achieve the very best outcomes for our children and young people.

We’re judged good by Ofsted, and we have a talented, ambitious and diverse workforce that has adapted quickly to our new Family Help model, ahead of government reforms.

As a service we are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in everything we do, and anti-racist practice and leadership is essential to achieving that aim. We want to do all we possibly can to ensure that:

  1. Our frontline practice is culturally competent, curious and does not inadvertently or otherwise introduce prejudice or bias.
  2. Our global majority staff feel respected, supported and safe from discrimination whether in the workplace or out doing their work in the community.

That’s why as a service we are recruiting our first ever Anti-Racist Practice Lead who will provide the children’s services background, skillset and lived experience and work with leaders and managers, to support our continual development and help us to champion our global majority children and families in Norfolk.

Your insight and understanding will be transformative in addressing systemic inequalities and we’re looking for someone who role models tolerant and inclusive values, can support all groups equally, embracing a diverse range of perspectives and skills whatever their background.

Join us, and together we will truly make a difference and make the county and the council the most welcoming place to work!
