DESCRIPTION

As part of the mobile development team, you'll directly contribute to the Blink mobile platform and work to make the customer experience the best it can be. As part of a cross-functional agile team you will:

  1. Develop and deliver mobile app features, UX flows, and UI components
  2. Collaborate with product and UX teams to develop and maintain features
  3. Work to continuously improve code quality, code maintainability and app performance
Key job responsibilities

Blink is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our mobile application team. You will:

  1. Develop and deliver mobile app features, UX flows, and UI components
  2. Collaborate with product and UX teams to develop maintainable features
  3. Work to continuously improve code quality, code maintainability and app performance
  4. Work alongside other app developers and help raise the mobile app development bar
  5. Work with modern Android development tools and principles such as Kotlin, MVVM, Coroutines, Hilt, Room, etc.
A day in the life

As an Android Engineer at Blink, you will:

  1. Have an opportunity to support and influence key decisions within the mobile platform and promote best coding practices.
  2. Develop features which are used by millions of customers each day.
  3. Work closely with other team members to ensure new features are implemented in extensible, maintainable ways.
  4. Regularly work with backend developers to help support app integrations with backend services.
  5. Write well-tested code using modern architectural principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  2. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  3. Industry experience working with modern Android development tools such as Kotlin, MVVM, Coroutines, Hilt, Room, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  2. Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  3. Experience with cloud message APIs and client-server interactions such as REST APIs, socket communication, web sockets. Experience with CI/CD, automated unit testing, and integration testing
