Analytical Chemist

CK Science are recruiting for an Analytical Chemist, on behalf of a leading provider of industrial waste management services, to be based at their site near Peterborough.

Analytical Chemist Role:

The main purpose of this role is to perform analysis of waste and other samples to relevant accreditation standards, providing technical input into method validation and development of new methodologies, both individually and as a member of a team. Your duties will include:

1. Running and maintaining various instrumentation within the Laboratory, including GC-MS/FID and ICP-OES.
2. Ensuring all work undertaken within the team complies with all relevant HSE, Quality, Regulatory, and Accreditation standards (UKAS, ISO 17025).
3. Extracting and clean-up of samples using various techniques.
4. Calculation of results and data entry onto the LIMS system.
5. Performing daily checks including balances, pipettes, and instruments.
6. Cleaning, reagent, and sample preparation.
7. Individual projects as allocated by laboratory management in relatively new fields, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of chemistry and the waste industry.
8. Sampling of incoming waste streams for compliance.

Your Background:

We are ideally looking for a graduate in chemistry or a related subject with an analytical chemistry focus.
