Job description

Rewarding opportunity to join a successful Drugs of Abuse testing laboratory!


Primarily lab-based, you will undertake a range of projects, screening for drugs of abuse in biological samples using both LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation. You will be responsible for the entire analytical process, from the preparation of biological samples such as urine and hair, to analysis using LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation. You will also have the opportunity to troubleshoot instrumentation and methods as required.


The successful candidate must have:

  • Chemistry or Scientific related degree
  • At least 18 months laboratory experience with a strong background in both LC-MS & GC-MS analyses
  • Experience analysing drugs of abuse within biological samples is desirable (ideally urine or hair).
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation (Experience with TraceFinder software would be highly advantageous)

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, you must have lived in the UK for the last five years to pass mandatory security clearance screening.
