Analyst: Technology Reporting Analyst

Department Overview

The Technology Reporting & Service Catalogue team is part of the IT Planning, Reporting, and Administration department (IPR). The role of the IPR department is to ensure communication and liaison with Head Office (HO) in Tokyo, for both Bank and Securities, as well as accountability for EMEA Technology wide reporting, management of resourcing processes, management of asset processes and administration of wider planning processes including annual budget planning.

The Technology Reporting team provides central reporting which covers all of EMEA Technology. This team has built and maintains a framework for standardized and accurate reporting, as well as control of performance reporting and communication which includes the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and service level agreements (SLA’s) across departments in EMEA Technology.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the Reporting Analyst is to ensure that reports which the CIO of EMEA Technology needs to provide to the relevant executive committees are complete, accurate, and submitted to the relevant governance committee contacts on time. The Reporting Analyst should act as a control gateway ensuring content is of a high standard before submission for CIO approval.

The Reporting Analyst should work with the report creators and contributors to ensure that the requirements for executive reports are clearly understood and fully incorporated into the reports and materials produced, ensuring that reports are produced to a sufficiently high caliber in order to receive CIO sign off. This involves being aware of topics covered in previous committee meetings, understanding latest incidents and trends across Technology, and working with Technology SMEs to propose key narratives for Technology executive reporting.

Much of the time of the Reporting Analyst is spent collaborating with Technology SMEs to produce executive report materials. Executive report topics cover a wide range of areas, examples include updates on AI Technology Risk; updates on Operational Resiliency items; specific ‘deep dives’ into events such as the global Crowdstrike incident; information on recovery plans in the event of a Ransomware attack; etc.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure reports are of high quality before submission to CIO.
  2. Review content submitted by contributors to ensure it is of appropriate quality and standard for the report audience.
  3. Amend content where appropriate, whilst validating with author that core message has been maintained.
  4. Understand and manage the timelines and deadlines for creation and submission of reports to each executive committee including BRC, ExCo, IMC, EMRC, Audit committee, and any other forums to which the CIO is required to report.
  5. Gather and understand report requirements, accurately communicate these requirements to the report contributors and authors (typically technology SMEs), and collaborate with stakeholders to meet submission deadlines.
  6. Coordinate the submission of content from report contributors and authors, to meet report deadlines.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues where report submission does not meet expected quality or is expected to miss deadline.
  8. Maintain an awareness of general topics and issues across Technology, and how they may relate to or impact reporting.
  9. Write executive summaries for each of the reports, condensing information where required.
  10. Rewrite submissions from departments where they do not meet the reporting standard.
  11. Educate departments where submissions are lacking.
  12. Automate reports using PowerBI, Excel or any other tool necessary.
