The Role

We are seeking a self-motivated graduate engineer to join our consultancy team as an Analyst Technical Consultant within our Waste and Resource Management Business Area. From day one, you’ll be part of a team supporting senior consultants in delivering projects to our clients. The successful applicant will have strong numeracy and analytical skills gained from an engineering or technical background, together with a proactive, organised approach and a pride in the quality of their work. Ricardo is passionate about developing talent, and can offer mentoring and support in your personal and professional development, including engineering chartership applications.

As an Analyst Consultant you’ll contribute across all project phases - from supporting the preparation of proposals to win new contracts, through researching and analysing information and data, to contributing to reports that are delivered to clients. You will be expected to manage your time across several projects, be responsible for the quality and delivery of your work, and liaise with other consultants to incorporate your contribution into wider project outputs.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • A Bachelors, Masters or PhD in an engineering subject.
  • A high level of numeracy and a talent for numerical analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Enthusiastic about the recycling, waste and resource management sector.
  • Comfortable developing, using and reviewing technical data and models, predominantly in Excel (e.g., mass and energy balances, option analysis/costing, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret complex issues and data, identifying solutions quickly.
  • Strong PC literacy – especially in MS Excel and Word.
  • Project/task management to ensure clients’ needs are met.
  • Must be able to conduct appropriately referenced research with minimal guidance and arrive at well-reasoned conclusions from its analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team in delivering high quality work.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Be flexible, resilient and enthusiastic.
  • Be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative, as well as operate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to write clear, concise and accurate technical reports.

Desirable

  • Knowledgeable about the UK waste market and relevant policy and legislation.
  • Willingness to travel in Europe and the Middle East.
  • Language skills advantageous, particularly Arabic.
  • An ability to process and understand large data sets to enable their use as part of a project/model.
  • Graduate/full member of a relevant chartered engineering institution, working towards chartership.
