The Analyst, Indirect Tax – USCAN is responsible, in collaboration with the Cytiva Indirect Tax Team, for ensuring that Cytiva complies with all Indirect Tax obligations in the USCAN region including Sales and Use Tax Reporting, GST/PST Reporting and on time payments. You will act as a subject matter expert on tax exemption queries from commercial teams and work with the USCAN Manager to implement and sustain processes and standards for the collection of Customer Tax exemption Certificates. You will be part of a truly global team – Indirect Tax Team covers New Zealand to Hawaii, US and a 22-hour time zone difference.

This position is part of the Global Indirect Tax Team and can be located in the following: Remote US, Marlborough or Amerisham.

What you will do:

  1. You will work with the Tax team to identify and implement process improvements to ensure that Customers have the ability to provide timely tax exemption certificates and assist the team when things go wrong.
  2. You will work with Customer Services team to help them understand the requirements and act as a subject matter expert where they have queries.
  3. You will support compliance ensuring that tax exemption certificates meet the requirements provided by statutory bodies and internal guidelines are met, while also assisting the team in preparing refund claims where Cytiva has paid too much tax to a statutory body.
  4. You will work with other teams to collect information which is required by the Cytiva Tax Team.
  5. You will support on Audits from relevant taxing authorities, ensuring that information is collated in an efficient manner and that responses are made on time and in a clear and transparent way.

Who you are:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or similar with 0+ years experience.
  2. You will have had exposure to Indirect Tax issues (sales and use tax or VAT).
  3. You will have a working knowledge of customer service processes. How customers provide tax exemption certificates and the common issues that may arise.
  4. You will have a proven track record of being able to work independently whilst keeping team members updated on progress.
  5. You will be organized and have a good knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel and Word).

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
