Overview

The Opportunity:

FIUK is looking for an experienced AML Officer to join the Compliance Team. FIUK AML plays a critical role in protecting the firm from being utilized to further financial crime, whilst ensuring employees understand, adhere to and uphold legislative and regulatory standards for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing.

The Day-to-Day:

1. Handle AML / CDD related queries and elevations from the business, using a risk-based approach
2. Work as part of the wider AML team to regularly review and update existing AML policy and procedures
3. Work alongside the Risk team to review and update the Business Wide Financial Crime Risk Assessment
4. Work as part of the wider AML team to conduct regular testing of 1LoD financial crime controls
5. Work as part of the wider AML team to implement department specific training of AML procedures and updates on any regulatory and legislative changes
6. Work alongside the wider AML team to review and produce annual, regulatory reports
7. Gather and report on AML MI to the Head of Compliance, the Board, relevant AML committees and leadership team as required
8. Review and Investigate PEP, Sanction and litigation elevations from screening software
9. Horizon scanning for any upcoming changes to AML legislation and/or regulation
10. Support any potential disclosures of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS) to the National Crime Agency

Qualifications

1. At least 2 years' experience in an AML role within the finance industry, Banking or Wealth Management preferred
2. Relevant understanding of legislation and regulation relating to AML, CTF and CDD
3. Clear and effective communication skills in both writing and speaking, confident at communicating at an executive level
4. Ability to organize and prioritise own work load
5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
6. Hard working, self-motivated, eager to learn
7. Ability to meet deadlines and deal with short turnaround times
8. Ability to use IT systems, good Excel knowledge is preferred
9. High level of attention to detail
10. Knowledge of AML Screening systems is preferred
