The club’s growth and management are built on a broad pool of committed and supportive volunteers. Our adult sections are very much integrated with the continual development and success of the juniors, many of whom progress to the top adult sides. This is complemented by a pool of more senior players, which we would also like to grow.

We have a fantastic pitch and clubhouse and are proud to be recognised with England Hockey Talent Centre status. ACHC is proud to be a Flyerz Club and is friendly and inclusive, welcoming disabled and non-disabled people of all ages and abilities as well as their families.

The Role:

We are looking for a driven and inspirational Head Coach:

  • Lead Coach for Ladies section comprising 7 adult teams.
  • Lead the Ladies 1st Team, creating a high-performance environment. They currently play in South Central League Premier 1.
  • Develop a training and development programme for the Ladies Section for the 1st & 2nd Teams and emerging juniors working alongside the Ladies 2s Coach.
  • Reports to the Ladies Club Captain on agreed objectives for the Section. Will work with relevant Team Captains on selection within guidance agreed with the Ladies Head of Selection, and will work with Captains and Coaches to ensure that the progression of juniors continues to be well-managed.
  • Deliver two training sessions per week and manage league games on weekends.
  • Plan and deliver pre-season, including player recruitment, training, fitness and fixtures.
  • Support other Board initiatives to achieve the club’s goals as appropriate, including those arising out of being a Talent Centre, the Schools Programme, Back to Hockey etc.
  • Note: Option for early involvement in L1 / 2 squad who will be participating in Wycombe summer league, with a focus on bringing new juniors through for next season.
  • There is the option for the right person to take on additional coaching and potentially even broader roles within the club. This could include Ladies club training (for the teams below L3) and / or junior training sessions up to around an additional 10 hours a week of coaching during the season.

Pay:

Competitive, linked to coaching qualifications, experience and including reasonable travel time to away games.

Person specification:

  • Proven high quality coach with record of developing juniors and integrating into adult set-up.
  • Planner – thinks ahead to develop juniors for senior sides given predictable university turnover.
  • Energetic, positive, and nurturing, while still ambitious / visionary and challenging.
  • Looking for a long-term project and excited at the prospect of taking the Ladies Section forward.
