Ambulance Care Assistant (Driver) - Days

Location: Margate, Kent - CT9 4JS

Salary: £26,592.93 per annum

Full Time Shifts: 42.5 hours per week (various shifts available)

The Role

The Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) will play an important role in helping people receive the care they need.

This role requires empathy and compassion, skills you’ll build upon during our two-week training programme, alongside guidance from our expert support team.

As an ACA with G4S Patient Transport Services, you’ll transport elderly, sick, and vulnerable patients to their medical appointments while showing compassion.

This role involves providing excellent care and ensuring patient safety and welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving patients with varying health and mobility needs to and from appointments.
  • Assisting and handling patients using appropriate equipment.
  • Ensuring safety and providing reassurance and support.
  • Assisting patients when entering and leaving their homes.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
  • Liaising with our central control team for patient pickups and drop-offs.
  • Undertaking patient and vehicle risk assessments and completing documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physically fit to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sympathetic, respectful, and caring attitude towards patients.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in accordance with service needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check - Applied and Paid for by G4S.
