About this client: Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Sara, her family, and case management team for several years. Sara is now 20 years old, living at home with her dad, younger (teenage) sister, and stepmum. Sara’s Mum regularly comes by the house to spend time with her too. Her home is fully adapted, and she has her own living quarters within her family home, including a living room, bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom.

Sara is a social butterfly, loves pamper sessions, aromatherapy, switch toys, spending quality time with her sister, and listening to music. Sara has a high level of complex care and medical needs; she has cerebral palsy, epilepsy (well controlled with medication), requires suctioning, has a PEG in situ for all nutrition, fluid and medication, a visual impairment, and communicates using sounds and body language; she is totally dependent on others to meet all her health, care, and medical needs.

Overview of role: Sara has a busy schedule, regularly attending a local hub for young people with additional needs. Sara requires a proactive, engaging, and organised SEN Support Worker who will bring new ideas on board. If Sara is having a resting day and needs to catch up on sleep, you will use this time to plan ahead, organise equipment, appointments, etc. The CCTV system allows you to monitor Sara while she sleeps, so you can attend to other duties and receive alerts when she needs assistance. Sara has an extensive therapy programme in place, and training will be provided by her therapist to implement these. This role will involve manual handling (ceiling track hoists), supporting with personal care, complex medical care, and administering medication.

Who this job would suit: A bright, bubbly, and engaging *female SEN Support Worker with a passion for their work and supporting others to reach their full potential. This is an ideal role for a University Student or Agency Teaching Assistant or Teacher. A team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills, along with compassion, and intuition. We can only accept candidates who are drivers with their own car.

What’s great about this job: Working with Sara is of course the best part of this job, she is a fabulous young woman, living life and enjoying every moment of it. There is excellent bespoke training provided, along with ongoing support and supervision from Sara’s case management team.
