Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Llanelli

Location: Llanelli, Carmarthenshire

Are you an experienced or aspiring ALN Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time role in Llanelli? Do you have a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ALN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Llanelli. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, such as ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties, and help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
  2. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  3. Help manage classroom behaviour and assist with emotional regulation strategies
  4. Encourage the development of pupil independence and confidence
  5. Support the pupil’s social and emotional well-being

Requirements:

  1. Experience working with children with additional learning needs (ALN) – preferred but not essential
  2. Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
  3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  4. A relevant qualification in supporting children (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) – desirable
  5. A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for all students
