Vision for Education is actively seeking enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work alongside pupils with a variety of learning needs in ALN schools across South Wales. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role where you’ll have the opportunity to positively impact young lives and help students develop and grow in a supportive learning environment.

The Role:

You will be supporting pupils with various additional learning needs (ALN), including:

  1. MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
  2. SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
  3. ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)
  4. PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties)
  5. PD (Physical Disabilities)
  6. EBD (Emotional and behavioural difficulties)

As An ALN Teaching Assistant, You Will:

  1. Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to aid learning and development.
  2. Assist with classroom activities, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible.
  3. Adapt learning materials to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  4. Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  5. Encourage independence and confidence in students.
  6. Work collaboratively with class teachers and other teaching assistants in smaller class settings.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Experience supporting children or young people in an education, care, or support setting.
  2. A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support.
  3. Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
  4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  5. Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 3) – preferred but not essential! If you have experience in youth work, care, or similar support roles, we’d still love to hear from you!
