Morson Talent are looking for an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter on behalf of the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying School (referred to as MFTS), located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).
The Aircraft Mechanical Fitter is responsible for assisting in the movement, Line and Base Maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet.
Non-certifying role.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
Accomplishment of Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
Completion of maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with written instructions laid down by OEM.
Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
Assist in day to day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skills:
ESSENTIAL
Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems.
Up to date knowledge of Flight/Airport Operations, Aircraft Line Maintenance, and Aircraft Base Maintenance.
DESIRABLE
Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
Education, Qualifications or Special Training:
ESSENTIAL
Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or related discipline.
DESIRABLE
Experience on H135/H145.
Experience:

Experience of Base Maintenance.
Experience of Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.
